A personal
note from the artist:
As an artist, I feel the need to play with shapes, and especially, color. I
have been painting and sculpting since I was a child. When I realized that I
could blend candlemaking, for which I have a passion, with my art, I was
thrilled. The possibilities are limitless, and I can't stop coming up with
new ideas.
For the last 12 years, I have been making candles. They are hand poured in
small batches and made to order. Each one is a bit different from the next
and a little piece of art. All of my candles have my original art work as
the labels. Some have small sculptures and figurines that I like to create
by hand. But most importantly, the vision behind my candles is to make a
small difference in the world. I want anybody who lights one of my candles
to feel at peace, empower a dream, hope for something special to manifest in
their lives. And so, all my candles have a purpose and a feel to them.

Candles by Montserrat are very unique candles, handmade specially for you. The candles are made as you order them, in this way, the essential oils are at their freshest, and you know that the candle you just bought has not been sitting in some warehouse for months. Since each candle is hand poured for you, it becomes a one-of-a-kind. Add to this the beautiful images on the labels, and your candle will be very special indeed. The images are original artwork. Montserrat loves to paint and art has been a passion of hers since she was a child. Some of the images she created when she was very young, like the one on the label of the Hope Candle, drawn when she was fourteen. |

Phoenix Legend has it that the Phoenix, when it saw death drawing near, made a nest of sweet smelling wood and resins, and exposed it to the full force of the sun's rays. As the nest caught fire, the Phoenix was burnt into ashes, but only to re-emerge as a new Phoenix, full of power and beauty. Essential oils of Pine, Eucalyptus, Cinnamon and Peppermint.

Mermaid's
Call
Mermaids are the
guardians of women. It is said that they can predict the future,
bring fertility and even grant wishes. Since Mermaids are water
spirits, they replenish our energy and nurture our spirits. They
teach us to awaken our deepest emotions stimulating our
compassion and intuition. Just like Guardian Angels, we all have
a Mermaid to watch over us.
This candle is one of a kind. Each mermaid figurine is hand made and unique. The artist created a blend of essential oils that would remind us of the sea as well as the earth, since mermaids can live in both worlds.

Kuan Yin
Kuan Yin is the Goddess of Compassion and Mercy. She is the one "who hears the cries of the world". Legend says that Kuan yin, originally a princess, having forsaken marriage, lived her life in a convent, much to her father's anger and distrust. She was a Buddhist Bodhisattva, which is a mortal who has achieved enlightenment and earned the right to enter Heaven or Nirvana. When she was at the gates of Heaven, she heard someone on earth cry, and she turned back, vowing that she would stay on earth to do all she could do to ease our suffering. She would not enter Heaven until everybody could go there with her. The Kuan Yin
candle is made with a blend of essential oils, including
sandalwood. It comes with a Kuan Yin pendant, about 1" in size.
Each one is hand made and no two are the same. They can be worn,
or placed on an altar. The pendant is tied with a bit of hemp
cord.
