A Tip for extending the burn time of your Essential Glow votive candles~

Most votives burn only 3-4 hours.

This is because they are in a candle holder that is too big. The key to getting the longest life out of your votive is to have it fit snuggly in a candle holder that is sized for votives. The confined space prevents the wax from melting down into a puddle at the bottom of your candle holder where it never burns.

Essential Glow Candles

This collection of Soy-based candles are handmade in Takoma Park, Maryland. All candles are scented with pure essential oils.

The candles are made from Soy and Palm oils which burns cleaner than candles that are manufactured from parrafin wax. Parrafin is a petroleum biproduct bleached white with toxic chemicals that are released into the air when it is burned. These candles have 100% cotton wicks, with no zinc or lead. These candles are safe to burn, even if you have respitory problems, are pregnant, or have young children.

I guarantee you will not find another Soy-based candle that smells this good, burns as clean and evenly, at prices this low. I've paid at least $20 for a small Soy-blend candle in a fancy box, and they weren't nearly as nice!

The Essential Glow Story

Gwen Mazorow, the creator of Essential Glow Candles, started making candles in her kitchen as a way to save money and for fun. She told me that she always had candles burning and it just made sense to start making them herself.

She gave her candles as gifts to friends and relatives and gradually they began asking her if they could buy them.

Gradually, Gwen's kitchen began to overflow with candle-making ingredients and equipment. This led to her setting up a candle-making room at an artists' co-op in Takoma Park, Maryland. On the 3rd floor of this building are the offices and rehearsal studios of the Washington National Opera Company ~ truly an inspirational presence!

Essential Glow Candles are offered in the following blends:
